Construction of 15 modern houses for the vulnerable begins in Kadoma

CONSTRUCTION of 15 modern houses for the vulnerable has begun in Kadoma after the recent groundbreaking ceremony.

The project follows the handover of 15 residential stands by Craft Properties chief executive officer Professor Kudakwashe Taruberekera to the targeted group on November 27 last year.

The businessman and philanthropist expected to hand over fully completed, three-roomed modern houses to one of the beneficiaries by the end of August.

Construction of the remaining 14 homes will proceed in phases.

Beneficiaries include 10 people with disabilities and five people living with albinism. They all received council-approved architectural plans at the November 2025 ceremony held in Kadoma, which was graced by Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Marian Chombo.

“This aligns with Government’s drive to ensure no one and no place is left behind in attaining upper middle-income status by 2030,” said Minister Chombo at the ceremony.

Beneficiaries described the initial donation as “life-transforming”.

Speaking at the recent groundbreaking ceremony, Prof Taruberekera said: “With the limited resources at our disposal, we remain committed to building decent homes on all 15 stands. As a businessman and Christian, I rely on God for strength to complete these houses. I ask Zimbabweans and friends abroad to join me in prayer for wisdom, power, and support to finish the work we began this year.
